Hometown Hero - Deanna Davis-Alexander
Hometown Hero Week 15 Winner - Deanna Davis-Alexander
Congratulations to our Hometown Hero week 15 winner, Deanna Davis-Alexander! Deanna has always been involved in serving our community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she began coordinating the weekly food drive at King's Cathedral in partnership with the Labor Community Services Program and Maui Food Bank. Volunteers pack each food box and provide between 500 to 1000 boxes to families in need. She has used social media to provide updates, spread the word, and garner support for their efforts.
Deanna also dedicates her time to advocate for Women Helping Women, Maui United Way, and Maui Food Bank. Prior to COVID, she spearheaded a fundraiser to pay off all delinquent public school lunch accounts where she personally raised nearly $5,000 and also donated 300 backpacks to children in need. If it touches her heart, she always finds a way to make it happen.
Thank you Deanna for making a difference in our community. Through your hard work, generosity, and selfless acts of giving we are reminded of the importance of compassion for others and that true aloha spirit lives on in Maui County, even through the toughest times. You are a real life hero and we are forever grateful.
