Hometown Hero Week 4 Winner - Kyle Kawakami
Congratulations to our week 4 Hometown Hero winner, Kyle Kawakami! Kyle is the owner and chef of Maui Fresh Streatery food truck and was nominated for his work in preparing kupuna meals during the COVID shutdown. Times have been difficult for everyone, but Kyle has gone above and beyond to provide for the Maui community. He organized the Kokua Meals initiative program that provides meals for at risk seniors across the island of Maui. He has made over 3000 meals thus far and donates the food and his time to this endeavor. He also has a donation jar that benefits various causes around the island monthly. Kyle is all about supporting not only our community, but also local businesses and encourages others to support local.
Thank you Kyle for the dedication you have shown to our community. Through your generosity and selfless acts of giving, your love and aloha for our community is one of the reasons why Maui no ka oi, even through the toughest times. You are a real life hero and we are forever grateful!
