Hometown Hero Week 9 Winner - Pastele House
Congratulations to our Hometown Hero week 9 winner, Pastele House! Owners, Cristina and Devin Pagaduan have been hard at work helping the community by providing free keiki meals and discounted meals for kupuna. The husband and wife duo have four children and know the struggles of our local families, especially with school lunches. From the very start of the pandemic, before free school meals were being offered, they reached out to local business and the community to come together and help feed our keiki. They've done drive through meal handouts, an end of the school year drive through carnival, and continue to feed students out of their food truck on a weekly basis. They are all about giving and helping the people of Maui County. To date, they have given out over 6,000 meals to students in our community.
Thank you Cristina and Devin for the dedication you have shown to our community, especially to our keiki. Through your generosity and selfless acts of giving we are reminded of the importance of compassion for others and that true aloha spirit lives on in Maui County, even through the toughest times. You are real life heroes and we are forever grateful.
