Lāna‘i Mammography Program
DID YOU KNOW? About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 13%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime (learn more at BreastCancer.org).
The Lāna‘i Mammography program was established to provide women of Lāna‘i access to annual mammography screenings and follow-up health services at MMMC and continued throughout 2022. Offered every second Monday of the month, this program includes a screening mammogram and breast health education, a ferry ride and ground transportation to MMMC, and lunch.
This year, mammograms are now done at the MMMC Outpatient Clinic with the new state-of-the-art 2D/3D mammography system, which provides some of the highest quality images available in Hawaii.
Women do not need a physician referral to get a mammogram. Maui Memorial Medical Center offers mammography screenings by self-referral and accepts all insurance types. Women can call 808.243.3012 to schedule a mammogram or for more information.
To date, over 100 women from Lāna‘i have benefited from this important screening program.
