Foundation Celebrates 20 Years of Helping Our Hospital!

2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the MMMC Foundation. Created in 1997 by a visionary gift from a grateful patient, over the past 20 years, the Foundation has contributed nearly $5 million in support to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Richard North was a resident of the Royal Mauian condominium in Kihei for 12 years. He had no immediate family but established close friendships with the other residents of the Royal Mauian. He developed a strong bond with the community and loved being a part of our island home. Mr. North was a patient at MMMC on more than one occasion, and was always pleased with the quality of care he received. Because he thought so highly of the physicians and staff of the hospital, when he passed away, he left a bequest of $1.25 million. This gift planted the seed that established the MMMC Foundation, with the sole mission of supporting the needs of the hospital for years to come. Mr. North's generosity set in motion a powerful means of supporting Maui County's only acute-care hospital. He was a visionary, leading the way in support for Maui Memorial Medical Center.
Our 20th anniversary is also a celebration of YOU, our friends and supporters. Your generosity over the past 20 years is what has enabled us to make such an enormous impact on healthcare in our community. Mahalo!
