Mahalo & A Hui Hou
Thank you for your support of our community hospital! Friends like you have made such a difference in the care that is being provided at MMMC every day. The past year was definitely a time of growth for the Foundation as well as the hospital. After many years, the transition from State management to Maui Health System finally became a reality, positioning the hospital for growth in many areas to better serve the health and wellness needs of our growing community. The Foundation was growing as well, raising a record-breaking $1.3 million in contributions with our many special events and from our generous supporters like you.
But with growth comes change and as of April 20, 2018 I will be leaving my position at the Foundation to join another Maui nonprofit in furthering their excellent work with children and education. It has been my honor to serve all of you and the entire Maui community as we work toward our goal of improving healthcare for every person in Maui County. I have truly enjoyed meeting and working with all of you - hospital staff, physicians, donors, community members and so many more. I am grateful for each of you, and humbled by the amount of support that exists for the foundation.
I am proud of all that we have accomplished in my nearly 8 years here, along with my fabulous team - Carlayna Nakamura and U'i Cordero. They are truly the best at what they do, and all the things that we have accomplished - purchasing millions of dollars of hospital equipment, helping thousands of patients in need, and educating the community about the good work of the hospital - would not have been possible without them.
I know that with your help, the Foundation is poised for even more growth and mroe exciting things in the future. Thank you for everything!
