Maui Health COVID-19 Updates: Additional Screening For Employees
Wailuku, Maui, HI – (April 8, 2020) ― The health and safety of our employees is a top priority.
Maui Health can confirm at this time that we have additional employees who have tested positive for COVID-19. These employees have been furloughed and will recover at home. Due to patient privacy, we will not be releasing the name or other information about these employees. Patients and staff who came in contact with these individuals have been notified. The Hawaii State Department of Health will notify any other potential contacts of the affected individuals.
Our staff have been trained in the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) protocols and we have the safety precautions and equipment in place to safely care for potential or confirmed COVID-19 patients. We have protocols in place to address situations when employees are exposed to the virus to ensure that we can protect them and others from additional risk. We are following guidance from and coordinating closely with federal, state and local public health agencies, and are implementing new PPE protocols as well as additional screening for employees.
We thank you for partnering with Maui Health to keep the community informed with current, and accurate information.
