Wailuku, Hawaii (August 31, 2017) – Maui Health System is excited to announce the appointment of Kimberly Fuson as the new Senior Director of Long Term Care and Critical Access for Kula Hospital and Lanaʻi Community Hospital. She brings to Maui over two decades of healthcare experience, specifically working with senior housing and human service organizations.

"To live and work with the people and in the place my soul calls home is the greatest honor and privilege. I am humbled to have been selected for this important community role with Maui Health System and look forward to collaborating with all our community partners to make Maui Health System no ka oi," she said.

Fuson comes to Maui Health System from Seacrest Village Retirement Communities in Encinitas, California, where she guided the leadership teams of three separate facilities as Vice President of Operations. She earned her bachelor of science degree in sociology from the University of Oregon and pursued graduate studies in social work at Portland State University. She is a licensed nursing home administrator in Oregon and Hawaii.

Kula Hospital is a critical access hospital offering urgent and limited rural emergency care for Maui's growing upcountry population. In addition to serving long-term care patients from all over the island, it offers a range of outpatient services, including a family medicine clinic.

Lanaʻi Community Hospital is the island's only hospital. It provides emergency, acute and long-term care to roughly 850 patients every year.
